New Voice Communication System will be installed in “Sakaeronavigatsia” Ltd.

“Sakaeronavigatsia” Ltd. of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia bought a new voice communication system. Safe flights are impossible without communication between the air traffic controller and the aircraft. “Sakaeronavigatsia” Ltd. and the Italian company “S.I.T.T.I. S.p.A“ signed an agreement on the purchase and introduction of the voice communication system (VCS).

“The voice communication system is essential in the process of air traffic control. Reliable communication among the air traffic controllers and the aircraft, as well as the air traffic controllers, ground services and the neighboring centers must be fulfilled in order to provide safe flights. At present, the voice communication system available in “Sakaeronavigatsia” Ltd. is based on outdated technology and it will no more comply with the international recommendations after the introduction of the new INDRA system. The processes of acquisition and introduction of the system produced by the Italian company “S.I.T.T.I. S.p.A” completely meet the detailed requirements provided for in the European Single Sky Implementation Plan (ESSIP) of the EUROCONTROL for 2015,”- said Mr. Gocha Mezvrishvili, Director General of “Sakaeronavigatsia” Ltd.

The new system will be installed on the operation positions of the air traffic control automation system (the main system of Tbilisi, the backup system of Kutaisi and the Tbilisi Training Center). The system produced by the Italian company will be integrated into the relevant section of the new air traffic control automation system (INDRA).

New voice communication system of high standards will enable “Sakaeronavigatsia” Ltd. to ensure the safety of flights in the air space of Georgia to a higher level.
