On 1-3 December 2009, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Georgia and Chairman of Supervisory Board of SAKAERONAVIGATSIA, Ltd. – Mr. Giorgi Karbelashvili was attending the 51st European Air Navigation Planning Group meeting. On the meeting, the Georgian delegation addressed the issue of resolving a safety problem of Air Traffic Management. Namely, Mr. Giorgi Karbelashvili, spoke about the unlawful activities, committed by the Aviation Authorities of the Russian Federation, by performing flights in the closed airspace over Abkhazian autonomous republic and to the closed Sukhumi Airport.

The Deputy Minister appealed to the President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization – Mr. Roberto Kobeh González, with the request to take adequate actions for preventing the abovementioned unauthorized activities.
